Josephine Walker Mitchell
In 1929 the Huble Homestead was sold to Mrs. Josephine Walker Mitchell.
Josephine turned the huble homestead into a wild-west dude ranch named
WM Ranch with help of partners Les Woods and Ivan Wayant. When business
wasn’t doing well, she bought out her partners and also neighbouring
settlers until she had filled up her ranch with horses, cows, sheep and
chickens. She kept it until 1957 when she was in turn, bought out.
Stauble later logged the property, and in 1975 the government acquired
the land to be used as a community pasture.
