Standard Facility Rental

Huble Homestead is a wonderfully unique piece of heritage, hidden within the beautiful countryside on the banks of the majestic Fraser River. Whether you are planning a reunion, corporate function, or staff retreat, Huble Homestead can make any occasion memorable and fun. Indoor capacity on site is approximately 80 people. Please keep in mind that Huble Homestead operates without electricity or running water. Meal catering is available, and renters are also permitted to bring in their own catering. See below for rates.

We offer custom facility rentals to suit your needs; most aspects of the rental are negotiable. We offer Hourly Rates for short functions; if your event is likely to run longer than six hours, consider our Basic Rental instead.

Hourly Rentals - $60.00 per hour

Hourly site rentals are ideal for anyone wanting to host their event for a few hours during our site’s operating hours (9:30-5:30). If your event is likely to run longer than six hours, consider a Basic Rental instead. Hours spent on site outside operating hours are subject to a charge of $80 per hour. The hourly rate includes:
  • The Welcome Barn, Animal Barn Loft, and Staff Cabin reserved for your access only.
  • Set up and take down of tables and chairs.
  • Games equipment for use on the grounds (public space), including bocce ball, horseshoes, and croquet.
  • Generator for electrical needs.
  • Storage for items prior to and after the event if needed.
  • A costumed interpreter to assist with aspects of your event.
  • Tours of the site for up to 30 people ($2.00 per extra person).
  • Heritage demonstrations and activities are available for an extra cost. Please inquire about what we can offer you.

Basic Rental - $350.00
  • Rental starts the day before your event from 12:00 to 5:30, and includes the day of your event from 10:00 to 5:30. This should allow you time to do any set up, decorating, or clean up.
  • Set-up and take-down of tables and chairs is done by Huble Homestead staff.
  • The Welcome Barn, Animal Barn Loft, ans Staff Cabin reserved for your access only.
  • Storage for items prior to and after the event as required.
  • Games equipment for use on the grounds (public space), including bocce ball, horseshoes, and croquet.
  • A costumed interpreter to assist with aspects of your event.
  • Tours of the site for up to 30 people ($2.00 per extra person).
  • Heritage demonstrations and activities are available for an extra cost. Please inquire about what we can offer you.

Your Hourly and Basic Rentals can be customized as needed to best serve your event needs. Add on any of these additional options:

Hot Meal - $7.00 per person
  • A homemade hot meal served with hot and cold drinks.
  • Meal is served buffet style, with a staff person serving the hot component.
  • Meal options include:
    • Bannock and beans
    • Beef stew and a bun
    • Chicken soup and a bun
    • Beef chili and a bun
    • Burgers and hot dogs with potato chips
  • Drinks provided include pop, water, coffee, and tea.
  • Add cookies for dessert for $1.00 extra per person.
Hot Meal with Dessert - $10.00 per person
  • A hot meal served with hot and cold drinks, and dessert.
  • Meal is served buffet style, with a staff person serving the hot component.
  • Meal options include:
    • Bannock and beans
    • Beef stew and a bun
    • Chicken soup and a bun
    • Beef chili and a bun
    • Burgers and hot dogs with potato chips
  • Drinks provided include pop, water, coffee, and tea.
  • Dessert options include:
    • Apple pie and ice cream
    • Homemade cakes and sweets
Snacks - $4.00 per person
  • Snacks may be provided for guests during the day.
  • Snacks include:
    • Veggies and dip
    • Cookies and squares
    • Pop, water, coffee, and tea
Table Serving - $100.00 and up
  • To have your guests served at their seats, a fee of $100 will include serving for up to 75 people.
  • An additional fee of $50 per 25 people will be charged for serving guests over the base number of 75.
Set Up for Self Catering - $100.00 and up
  • Renters are welcome to bring their own food from outside caterers. Tables will be provided and set up by Huble Homestead.
  • If you would like our staff to set out and arrange food, a $100 fee will apply. This fee includes food set up as well as paper plates and cutlery for up to 75 people with a fee of $1.00 per person over 75.
Other ideas or additional service requests are always welcome!


Guidelines:
  • A 50% deposit is required at least 1 month prior to the event.
  • All final payments must be paid on or before the date of the event. Cash, cheques, Visa, and Mastercard are accepted.
  • A fee of $20.00 per quarter hour will be charged for time spent on site over and above the declared departure time indicated on the Rental Agreement, and for time spent on site outside normal site operating hours (9:30-5:30).
  • No projectile confetti or rice allowed - flower petals are permitted.
  • Any significant damage to the site will be charged to the renter.
  • Huble Homestead is not liable for any losses incurred during the event.
  • All guests must comply with Site Rules and Regulations.

Cancellation Policy:
  • Cancellations after your deposit is paid are subject to a $20 cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations less than seven days before the event will be subject to an administration fee of 20% of the rental cost. The rest of your initial deposit will be refunded by cheque.

Important Information:

Customization: Remember your event is customizable! Other ideas or additional service requests are always welcome.

Capacity: The maximum comfortable seating capacity in the Welcome Barn is 80 people (chairs only, not table seating).

Dinnerware: All plates and cups provided for meals and snacks are disposable. The provision of real dinnerware, if required, is the responsibility of the renter.

Tables: Our tables are 6 foot plastic tables, and white table cloths are provided. Special coloured table covers or linens are the responsibility of the renter.

Chairs: Our chairs are metal legged wooden chairs. Chair decorations or rentals from a third party are the responsibility of the renter.

Parking: Guests must adhere to parking guidelines. Only vehicles with designated handicap passes, and two vehicles from the rental party, are allowed in the lower lot. Vehicles are permitted to drive down to the lower parking lot to drop off or pick up individuals who may have trouble walking, but must return to park at the upper lot.

Private Functions: Huble Homestead Historic Site is a public park. Signs and staff will direct the general public around “Private Function” areas, however, the outside common area cannot be reserved.

Hours: Bookings are welcome between Victoria Day and Thanksgiving. Staff members are on site every day from Victoria Day to Labour Day from 9:30 to 5:30 and weekends from Labour Day to Thanksgiving. Time spent on site beyond 5:30 will result in a charge of $20 per quarter hour.

Water: Huble Homestead Historic Site has no running water. Outhouses are located in the upper parking lot, behind the Trapper’s Cabin, and a wheelchair accessible outhouse is located near the Blacksmith Shop. Hand washing stations are set up at the outhouses behind the Trapper’s Cabin and at the BBQ. Drinking water is available for purchase at the General Store.

Electricty: The site does not have any electricity. Generators are available for music and microphone needs.

Location: Huble Homestead Historic Site is located 40km north of Prince George, 6km off Highway 97 on Mitchell Road. Mitchell Road is a well maintained gravel road. Rental agreements and deposits are conducted through our in town office, above Books & Company at #202-1685 3rd Avenue, Prince George, BC.

Directions: From Prince George, head north on Highway 97, towards the Hart. Continue north past Salmon Valley. Once you cross the Salmon Valley Bridge, the turn off to Mitchell Road is approximately 14 km north. Watch for our signs and turn right on Mitchell Road. If you reach the turn off to Summit Lake, you’ve gone too far; turn around and turn left when you reach Mitchell Road. Once on Mitchell Road, continue 6 km until you reach the upper parking lot.
