Volunteer Opportunities

Event Volunteers:

Volunteers at specific events are often needed to help us provide a better experience for our visitors! We often seek helpers to do the fun stuff, like lead crafts and games and greet visitors, while our staff does tasks that require a little more training and experience, like store sales and the barbeque. If you have an interest in food preparation or other area, feel free to let us know - we can arrange our staff to cover the empty spaces!

Homestead Days - Sunday August 1 and Monday August 2
Our signature pioneer event is full of demonstrations, old fashioned games, and contests - three or four helpers over the course of the weekend would play a big part in making this event a better experience for visitors. Are you skilled at canning, carving, or other traditional activities? Call us!

Halloween Spooktacular - Saturday October 23
Calling all spooks and spirits! Prince George's most goulish Halloween getaway is only possible with lots of helpers! Lots of opportunities for interests of all kinds!


General Volunteers: Curatorial Committee
Join or assist our Curatorial Committee in accessioning artifacts, coordinating restoration, and more! Location: Huble Homestead Historic Site and in-town office.

Maintenance Committee
Join or assist our Maintenance Committee with on-site inspections, maintenance work, and more. Location: Huble Homestead Historic Site.
