Fall on the Homestead

Sunday, October 8 - 10:30am to 4:00pm

Thanksgiving

Help us close out for the season while enjoying the fall colours!

Push away from the Thanskgiving table and take a break from the turkey by heading out to Huble Homestead to enjoy the fresh fall air! Bundle up and enjoy the crisp air in the morning, then warm up with a steaming cup of apple cider or hot chocolate, or by roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. With the warm fall we've been having, you might find yourself peeling off a layer!

Enjoy games, crafts, and activities in the afternoon while admiring the changing colours of the leaves. Indulge in a warm bowl of soup from our fall menu, or enjoy a hamburger or hot dog from the BBQ. Early risers can enjoy pancakes from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, then treat yourself to dessert with a slice of apple or strawberry rhubarb pie.

Bring the family out and enter the scarecrow making competition, with prizes being awarded to the crowd favourite, the staff favourite, and the most creative! Enjoy a game of croquet or horseshoes, try the stilts, and take part in heritage demonstrations such as butter and ice cream making! Site tours will also be available for those wanting to learn more about the history of the homestead. Finally, don't miss your last chance to shop in the General Store - get a jump on your Christmas shopping or stock up on candy, and take 10% off all store merchandise (excluding food)!

Huble Homestead Historic Site is a 30 minute drive north of Prince George, BC. Leave the city behind and make your way up Highway 97 for 40 kilometres, before turning off on Mitchell Road to continue another 6 kilometres down a well-maintained dirt road.

Huble Homestead is dog friendly. Enjoy a picnic or purchase lunch from the BBQ as you relax in the fresh air. Admission is by donation, with a recommended amount of $10.00 per family.

We acknowledge the financial assistance of the Province of British Columbia.
