Spring on the Homestead

Sunday, May 19 & Monday, May 20 - 10:30am to 4:00pm

Help us open the homestead and welcome spring at the first event of our regular season!

Nestled in the heart of nature, Huble Homestead offers a glimpse into the past, allowing visitors to see how early settlers would have experienced spring. Learn more about the past through our exhibit, take part in heritage demonstrations, and participate in old-fashioned games and the Maypole dance!

Explore the historic site by taking a leisurely stroll around the grounds or opt for a guided tour with our staff at the designated times. Relax in the fresh outdoor air with a picnic or purchase food from the BBQ, then learn about our plans for the heritage garden. Bring your artistic talents and creative flair to Sunday’s scarecrow making competition and build the winning guardian for our summer crop, then treat yourself to candy or a slice of pie in the General Store.

Visit Sunday to visit the critters from the PG Mobile Petting Zoo. If you've always wanted to learn more about cheesemaking, be sure to come out Monday for a cheesemaking demonstration by Tracey Johnson of Cheeseneeds.com!

Huble Homestead Historic Site is a 30 minute drive north of Prince George, BC. Leave the city behind and make your way up Highway 97 for 40 kilometres, before turning off on Mitchell Road to continue another 6 kilometres down a well-maintained dirt road.

Huble Homestead is dog friendly and open daily from 10:00am to 5:00pm for guided tours and shopping in the General Store. Enjoy a picnic or purchase lunch from the BBQ as you relax in the fresh air. Admission is by donation, with a recommended amount of $10.00 per family.
